Our mission: bringing confidence to every online store

Ello is an AI virtual try-on for Shopify and other online stores: shoppers see clothing, accessories, and bags on their own photo, right on the product page, before they buy. Our mission is to end the tradeoff shoppers have always been forced to make — the confidence of buying something in person, or the convenience of buying it online. Who says they can't have both?

The choice nobody should have to make

Shopping in person gives you certainty: you hold it, you put it on, you see yourself in the mirror, and you know. Shopping online gives you everything else — the whole catalog, every size, at midnight, from your couch. For thirty years those two things have been sold as a tradeoff, and you can measure what that tradeoff costs. A physical clothing store converts roughly 15-30% of the people who walk in. Online fashion converts about 1.5-3% of visitors (IRP Commerce live data 1.53%; Dynamic Yield/Mastercard fashion benchmark 2.81%; TruRating in-store specialty retail). Same catalog, same prices, same shopper — a directional gap of up to roughly 10x. The website's missing piece is the moment a shopper sees themselves in the product.

What we believe

Where Ello is going

01 — See it on you (shipping now): the try-on on every product page, tied to real revenue. 02 — Style it on you (building): a store sells outfits, not items, so pieces layer on and off the same shopper photo and the whole look goes in the cart. 03 — Everywhere the shopper decides (next): the same engine in the post-purchase offer, the email, and on every platform a brand actually runs on.

What Ello will not do

Frequently asked questions

What is Ello's mission?

Bringing confidence to every online store. Shoppers have always had to choose between the confidence of buying something in person and the convenience of buying it online. Ello's mission is to end that tradeoff by letting shoppers see products on their own photo, on the product page, before they buy.

Why does virtual try-on matter for an online clothing store?

A physical apparel store converts roughly 15-30% of the people who walk in; online fashion converts about 1.5-3% of visitors. The catalog and the prices are the same — what the website is missing is the moment a shopper sees themselves in the product. Ello adds that moment to the product page.

Does Ello tell shoppers their size?

No. Ello shows how a product looks on a shopper's own photo. It is not a size predictor, a fit recommender, or a body scanner, and Ello does not market it as one. The problem it solves is visual confidence, not sizing.
