My changes aren't appearing

You saved a setting and the storefront looks the same. Almost always, that's caching doing its job — here's how to see your change right now.

The short version: Saved settings reach shoppers within about 30 seconds, but your own browser may hold a cached copy a little longer. Hard-refresh the product page, or add ?ello_preview=1 to the URL for a guaranteed-fresh look. After big catalog edits, the Refresh widget button on the Products page forces everything through in seconds.

How changes propagate

Ello caches your widget configuration close to shoppers so product pages stay fast. Every save bumps your store's config version, and shopper browsers pick up the new version within about 30 seconds on their next page view. Returning visitors also keep an instant local copy — refreshed the same way.

See your change immediately

  1. Hard-refresh the product page. A reload (Cmd/Ctrl+R) tells Ello to skip every cache and fetch your live settings. This is the everyday answer.
  2. Or use the preview flag. Add ?ello_preview=1 to any product-page URL. It always fetches fresh settings, always shows the widget (even inside a holdout test), and logs nothing to your analytics — the clean way to check work-in-progress.
  3. After catalog changes, use Refresh widget. The button at the top of the Products page pushes catalog and settings changes through every cache within seconds — the strongest lever, best after enabling products or changing coverage.

The dashboard preview is always current: Widget Design's live preview reads your unsaved edits directly, so it can be ahead of your storefront by design: preview shows the future, the storefront shows the last save (within ~30 seconds). If the preview looks right and the store doesn't, you're just waiting on the cache — or you haven't hit Save.
